Which espresso machines take ESE coffee pods?

Feb 5, 2012

I have been looking into the major makes of machines that can be used with ese coffee pods just to see which are the famous manufacturers. Now this list isn’t exhaustive, and it will be added to supplemented and edited over time but these are the biggest names I found. If you have an ESE pod friendly espresso machine by a manufacturer I have not listed please write a comment and I’ll feature them at a later date.

Illy ESE Coffee Pods

Let’s start with the Daddy. Illy invented ESE pods so they were the first to bring out machines designed to accommodate the pods and loose coffee. The Francis Francis range are iconic and desirably functional, so hats off to Illy !

Delonghi ESE Coffee Pods

Sometimes I think Delonghi make so many espresso machine variants that you never come across the same one twice. There is always some colour variance or different finish on the case. They all seem to function well though and socongratulations to Delonghi as they always have the ESE logo printed on their machines.

 Dualit ESE Coffee Pods

They make robust and stylish toasters so why not Espresso machines as well? Kudos to Dualit for these ese compatible coffee machines.

 Gaggia Espresso Coffee Pods

Gaggia make so many machines that it is difficult to narrow down the images to just one. I chose this one because it is classic Gaggia, who have been making espresso machines for over 60 years. It is a little known fact that they are actually a part of Saeco which in turn is owned by Dutch giant Philips.

That’s it for today, I’ll be hunting around for more ESE compatible machines soon.
