This is a little like Desert Island Discs – Who would you most like to have a coffee with? I am not sure that I can name just one person here, as I think there are quite a few people that sharing a cup of coffee would be great – Steven Fry for example would be a great person to have a chat with over a coffee, David Attenborough would also be very intersting. Steve Jobs would be interesting (I wonder if Steve Jobs did drink coffee – I guess he must have to keep all those ideas going) What about someone that is not alive. You might think Elvis Presley would be a great catch or one of the Beatles, Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn perhaps. We could expand this to say 5 people you would like to talk with around a table whilst drinking coffee – so who would they be? and what coffee would you be offering them?

If it were me I think I would opt for these people: Robert Redford – such a talent, and a very caring person, then I would ask Morten Harket as he is a great philosopher. Nicole Kidman – just because she is so beautiful, and has played some great parts.Tom Hanks – He’s got to be one of the best actors ever, and I would love to get into his brain. And finally Jeff Bridges. He has always struck me as someone that you could really have a great discussion with.

These are mine – but I would like to hear who you would like to sit down and drink espresso coffee with? What are you waiting for!

I decided that I shall try and drink the coffee in a jar today and give drinking espresso coffee a break – espresso is special and I don’t want to dilute the drink by having every day, 8 cups a say. So today I am drinking a cup of Tesco freeze dried GOLD. SO I have boiled the kettle (something which I seem to have forgotten to be able to do) and added the water to the cup…a slight smell of burning. Added some milk and a quarter teaspoon of sugar. It’s okay, but it’s not the hit I need in the morning that I get from great espresso coffee. The second sip is worse. Too milky (and I only put a little milk in) and not strong enough, even with 2 spoons of coffee. It tastes of a warm wet drink, but  not sure if it is tea or coffee – it doesn’t stand out and shout “HEY, I’m a great Coffee! Wake Up!” I will perservere and see how the day goes. But already fear that I will be straight back onto the better espresso by this afternoon. After all it is Friday!.

Some very sad news:

On another note, a sad note, I was and am very sorry to hear of the death of Steve Jobs, CEO and co-founder of Apple. He was a great man that changed our world for the better. I have used macs for over 20 years, and I am writing this blog on an imac. We will miss you Steve. I thought I would leave you with this quote, perhaps the most appropriate quote given Steve Jobs’ legacy, his vision, and the way he lived his life:

“I want to put a ding in the universe.”

You did, Steve. You did.

God Bless.
