Hotter Single Serve Espresso

Things are hotting up in the single serve espresso market.

Guru has heard that Starbucks, or Charbucks, depending upon your persuasion, is to finally take the plunge and enter the European single serve capsule coffee market

Not good news is it really?!

Just take one look at the line up of the usual corporate monsters which now inhabit the lock and key capsule market and it is clear that all of them see rich pickings…

Nespresso cleverly led the way and others are now following with varying degrees of success…

Starbucks has already ‘tested’ the capsule market in the US, selling 100m of its K-cup packs within 2 months of launching, in November last year…

The margins must be especially impressive, almost as impressive as the carbon foot print that results from the manufacture of these capsules…!

Starbucks is no doubt under pressure…. it was hit especially hard after the 2007 /08 economic meltdown, realising an c 8% decline in spend and sales here in the UK, and recent initiatives around an expanded coffee range, with a variety of dairy selections, syrups, and toppings, together with a range of new pies and tarts, will I think do little to stem the rot in the longer term…

Conversely Aromo – that little roaster / supplier of gourmet ESE pods which no one has heard of  🙂  -continues to go from strength to strength…!!

We are not Starbucks and never will be!

We sell good honest espresso pods, which Monkey has carefully crafted and blended to give you the best perfetto espresso experience we believe you can achieve in home and from an ESE pod

Go on give us a try and tell us what you think we are all ears!
