Fab Four Espresso

Helter Skelter Espresso

What an unbelievable year 2012 will be for the British Isles

The Jubilee and all the coffee talk about origins from the old guard’s empire

The Olympics and the old school marketing guff about Olympic special coffee blends

The Euro footie spectacular and the necessary post match blues caffeine pick me ups!:(

And of course at the back end of the year, the 50th anniversary of the Fab Fours’ first hit!!

I am a BIG Beatles Fan – serious respect is due to the four young lads from the Pool who shook the world… and whether or not they are your ‘cup of tea’, I am sure that you too have been pondering and fidgeting over that most important of questions – what coffee would they have preferred?!

Let’s not forget the late 50s and early 60s were the last time our towns and cities witnessed a coffee bar explosion… and so I am sure John, Paul , George and Ringo would have been very clear about their favourite brew…

November 1962’s Red Parlaphone ‘Love Me Do’ marks a seminal moment in popular culture and whether Ringo drummed, or played the tambourine, it doesn’t really matter…only the promise of what we now know became a phenomenon the likes of which the world has never seen before or since

Now 50 years on the important point is to know, to understand and to debate in our post yuppie soporific boredom whether –

George would have been an espresso macchiato drinker?

John a ristretto quaffer?

Paul a skinny cappuccino man?

And Ringo a Chai Latte addict?

It is questions such as these which form and mould the important debates in an otherwise mundane 9 > 5 existence surely?!

Would Mr Jagger have cared for a caramel frappe, or would Mr Richards have preferred a double espresso with Martel chaser?

Perhaps we will never know… but spin those discs and realise that the same old school mechanical technology which made these seminal artistes and their fab sounds, also made perfetto espresso  and the ESE Easy serve espresso pod a simple and divine reality for hedonists the world over to enjoy!
