Espresso Coffee – A Major Employer

Did you know that coffee is the world’s second largest traded commodity after oil?

Over 132 m 60 kilo bags of the stuff are traded each year

At  the moment, prices remain stuck in a relatively high 220 > 230 c / Lb range- ensuring origin farmers are reluctant sellers, as the past few months of super high prices have left them with cash to spare!

Coffee is grown in over 70 territories across the globe – but predominantly between the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn.

It supports over 25m families  – who in turn are focussed on supplying the 3 billion cups of coffee which are consumed daily across the planet…that adds up to c 1 trillion annually!

The biggest green bean traders in the world are Neumann / Olam / NKG and Ecom… and collectively they control well over half of the market.

Many, such as Neumann, manage and implement their own ethical good works in origin…Often below ‘The radar’ these good works deliver significantly greater value, than the high street branded offerings made by Fair Trade and RFA…genuinely making an economic and welfare difference to the lives of coffee farmers

At Aromo we care first and foremost about the quality and consistency of the ESE Espresso pods we deliver to you…But we also are focussed on ensuring that all those involved in the coffee supply chain can make a good living…That’s why where ever possible we source beans from those organisations who prove themselves to have an active and audited ethical in origin policy

Rest assured then that your Aromo Easy Serving Espresso pod tastes great / is always top quality and fresh…but also that we are all doing our own little bit to ensure a fairer distribution of wealth
